Overall, our experience was satisfactory. There were a few safety related issues that were concerning, but I also want to acknowledge that the host was genuinely apologetic, took full accountability, and showed concern for our family's safety throughout the situation.
Unfortunately, we got a flat tire on the freeway. When we pulled over to install the spare, we found that the spare tire was also flat. We had to get assistance to inflate the spare at a nearby gas station before we could continue to a tire shop to replace the tire. The host later told us he had never checked the spare tire since purchasing the vehicle and said he would be adding an air pump for future guests.
The vehicle also rode a bit rough and bouncy, and the right sliding door did not fully latch unless it was pushed shut manually. The host explained that he forgot to mention this before our trip and shared that he had already ordered the replacement part to fix the issue. We also found that the seatbelt for the seat directly behind the front passenger would not latch normally. The only way we could get it to secure was by holding down the red release button while inserting the buckle and then releasing the button once it was clicked into place.
While these oversights were disappointing (especially because they involve safety) the host communicated well, accepted responsibility without making excuses, checked in to make sure our family was okay, and even offered us a discount on a future rental. I truly believe he cares about providing a good experience and is taking steps to improve. I hope these issues are resolved for future renters, because with those addressed, this could be a great rental experience.
Thanks, Jose, for your suggestions. I’ve already had the suspension inspected and I’m fixing the seat belt issue. I’ve also ordered the door latch and am waiting for it to be delivered.

The car was very wobbly driving on freeway and it had spider webs and spiders under the seat. Myself and my 2 kids both had small bites and we caught a big sized spider crawling and smashed it on the window and showed the owner. The back seat belt didn’t work for one of my kids and we had to travel long distance. Won’t be booking in the future.
Hey Johnny, let’s be honest. When I told you I’d send an invoice for the extra mileage and missing fuel, you said you’d leave a bad review if I did. I sent the invoice, Turo reviewed it, and charged your card. Please don’t make up stories to avoid legitimate charges. Hosts, be aware if you need to charge for extra mileage or fuel.
