Overall, we had a really good experience with this rental and appreciated how smooth and organized everything was. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the pickup instructions were some of the best we’ve had. I especially appreciated that the directions included pictures of exactly what I needed to look for, and that everything was sent step by step instead of all at once. That made the process feel really manageable and not overwhelming, especially since it was at LAX. Every time we messaged with an update, the next set of directions came through quickly, which made pickup feel easy and seamless.
I also reached out with a couple of questions I wasn’t sure about, including an issue with Turo not approving drivers yet and a question about the shuttle, and both were answered quickly and without hesitation. That was very appreciated and made the whole process feel even less stressful.
It was also really nice that the vehicle was in a smaller parking garage instead of a huge chaotic rental lot. That made pickup and drop-off much easier, and we also appreciated not having to pay any extra parking fees when entering or leaving.
The two things that kept this from being a full 5-star experience for me were the cleanliness at pickup and the hybrid charge level. The van didn’t feel quite as clean as I expected, as there were marks on one of the seats, the backs of the seats didn’t appear fully wiped down, and there was some garbage in one of the doors. We had also chosen this van in part because it was listed as a hybrid, so it was a little disappointing that the battery was at 1% when we picked it up, since that really limited the benefit of that feature.
That said, the host was responsive, helpful, and very kind in the way they received feedback, which I really appreciated. Overall, this was still a positive experience, and with a little more attention to those details, it would easily be a 5-star rental 😊.
