The Dodge was an older vehicle and had to be returned three days early after the check-engine light came on. Additionally, the car had clearly been smoked in and had a very strong, unpleasant odor that triggered migraines for my wife.
Based on our text conversations, it appeared that the host was already aware of both the mechanical issue and the smoke odor but chose not to disclose either before the rental.
Because of the vehicle issues, we were forced to end our rental three days early. Despite this, neither Turo nor the host provided any refund or credit for the unused days. We were also charged a convenience fee for refueling the vehicle. I have no issue paying for the actual fuel used, but I do not believe a convenience fee is appropriate when the vehicle broke down and I was unable to reasonably drive it to a gas station before returning it.
