Unfortunately the car battery died in the middle of me driving and I almost wrecked. The wheel stiffened up and the car shut off in the middle of me turning into a gas station. I muscled the wheel just enough so I could avoid hitting a pole and the curb. As you can imagine I was very shook. After the vehicle came to a stop I noticed the electric went out on the car and since the lock/unlock buttons were powered electronically, I was locked inside of the car and could not get out. Good thing my husband was following me for the return of the car so I wasn’t alone. Mind you it was 9pm at night, cold and raining. My husband stood there in the rain until the host arrived. The host was pretty close by and promptly came within 10-15 minutes to give the vehicle a jump. When the car came back on I then proceeded to fill up the gas tank and return the vehicle. For my inconvenience the host said that I would be given a discount if I rented another car through him within the next 90 days. This discount was 50$. This wasn’t a bad discount but it unfortunately it did nothing for me since I do not need a rental car in the next 90 days. Within the next 24-48 hours I received an bill from him to pay 29$ for going over the 200 miles that was allotted. I reached out and politely suggested if he would be interested in compensating me by applying my discount to the 29$ bill. He read my message, did not reply and force charged my card on file. This obviously isn’t about 29$ but more about conducting fair and reasonable business. Hate this happened.

Safety is my top priority.
As soon as I notified left my night shift work and arrived within 10 minutes. I was able to get the car back to work in one minute safely.
Turo system Automatically applies additional mileage fees after exceeds the 200 miles.
I didn’t offer $50 I did offer 5% off future trip.
Hosts not allowed to apply discount towards mileage.
