The car itself was in good shape with a minor sensor issue on pickup. (And you could tell the car hadn't been detailed) However without telling us ahead of time the host gave us a key fob that limited our car top speed as well as the volume on the car radio severely. They did not offer a solution to the key fob other than driving back 6 hours to swap fobs with them.
Later when the car developed intermittent headlight issues the host wouldn't allow us to take it to a local mechanic but against the request of both myself and turo required the car to be brought back across 3 states to be turned in which was obviously an enormous inconvenience and required hours of customer support with Turo to source a new rental. (I have to say that Turo eventually resolved everything to our satisfaction.)
All in all the vehicle itself was fine but the experience with the host was very challenging. (And turo support did a good job)
Thank you for the feedback. The restricted key fob was intentional, capping speed at 85 MPH and radio volume around 20–25% for safety purposes. I understand this may have felt inconvenient, but safety is never an inconvenience to me. Mailing the unrestricted key would have left me without an emergency backup. Regarding the headlights, the vehicle was towed back and tested for 2 days with no issues found, suggesting possible misunderstanding of the system. Future listings will clarify this better
