We completed nearly 5,000 miles on a multi-week road trip in this vehicle, and while it ultimately got us where we needed to go, the experience wasn’t what we expected.

From the beginning of the trip, multiple safety and driver-assistance systems were malfunctioning, including the Pre-Collision System, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Parking Support Brake, and adaptive cruise control. These warnings remained throughout the trip, and cruise control was unavailable, making long highway drives much more fatiguing.

There was also an aftermarket dash camera that emitted constant beeping every time the vehicle was started. The host explained how to disable the alerts, but it became another repetitive inconvenience at the beginning of each drive.

During both city and highway driving, the vehicle consistently pulled to the left and had noticeable steering vibration, causing the driver’s side mirror to vibrate enough that it became difficult to use.

The vehicle also smelled noticeably of cigarette smoke when we picked it up. We were traveling with family, including someone with a smoke allergy, so this was disappointing.

The host was responsive and communicated throughout the rental, and I appreciate the effort to prepare the vehicle after body shop repairs. However, I don’t believe a vehicle with multiple safety-system malfunctions, disabled driver-assistance features, and the other issues described above should be rented until they are resolved.

The car completed our nearly 5,000-mile trip without leaving us stranded, but given its condition, I can’t recommend it in its current state.
