Booked the red 2022 HONDA ODYSSEY. I drove from Orange County to Pasadena to pick up a friend for a business trip. Car did not start anymore. AAA determined it was not a battery issue. I had to get an emergency vehicle from AVIS for the trip last second. Tried getting a refund from the host for not even having the vehicle for 12 hrs and nope the host cannot give me a refund. $500 dollars down the drain. Only drove about 40 miles to Pasadena. Booked the vehicle for 5 days.
Unprofessional and a scam. I’m filing a claim and will do anything I can to get my money back.

This is the first bad experience I’ve had with Turo. We got a van for our family trip. The first place we went was Walmart in Irvin. When we got back to the car it wouldn’t start. I notified the host immediately who asked us to ask strangers in the parking lot to help jump start the battery. We had three people use the jumper device, it’s a small box and it wouldn’t work. Finally, the host told us to go and buy jumper cables for their car and battery. Luckily an INCREDIBLY kind stranger bought jumper cables in the store and used them to help us. The car finally started. Mind you, the moment I notified the host he said he’d come help and that he was at Santa Ana airport which according to gps was 10 minutes away. The host never came in the 55 minutes we were stuck in the parking lot in 90 degree weather with 3 small children under the age of 7. The host told me he didn’t have another van for me to use and to let him know if issues arise. Luckily the car started the other times but that hour in the heat with our children will live in infamy but it’s not like the host ever checked back in with us or asked how things are going. Finally; our plane changed to leave earlier so we asked to leave the car an hour earlier. He told us we could but would need to leave it in free public parking. We had to haul all our luggage, three kids a quarter of a mile to walk to the airport, again, in the heat. Is a quarter mile long? No but to the kids it might as well been the Sahara desert. I had asked the host before if it requires a shuttle or is in walking distance and was told yes. It was but again if you have small kids not the same thing. So if you have small kids maybe don’t rent from them. I gave two stars because it did work the rest of the trip.

Hi there. I appreciate your patience with us as we don’t live in Irvine and were coming back from another airport. I hope my constant communication throughout the process was helpful. While waiting for us to arrive, we do allow others to jumpstart or for you to purchase the jumpstarter since they have it at Walmart. We got it repaired
