As always Leonardo was a pleasure to work with, he's kind and has great communication. His vehicles are always exceptional, clean and well maintained. Pick up and drop off is easy and simple. This Ford Bronco was fun and great to drive. I forgot that it has a tailgate that swings out so don't reverse park into spaces if you plan on putting things in the trunk 🫣😉. Thank you again Leonardo

Wow! Tiffany was a fantastic ride. We rented her for our elopement and she did not disappoint. The convertible top worked fine and overall the drive was smooth. We had to make the drive from Palm Desert to Joshua Tree and back, including a small trip through the park, and did not have any issues. Alfred was very helpful, walking us through the operation of the car and how to troubleshoot and tips to drive. 5 star experience, would recommend.

Frequently asked questions in Rancho Mirage

Why choose a convertible for your Rancho Mirage adventure?

A convertible car rental in Rancho Mirage offers the perfect way to experience California's desert sunshine and mountain views with the top down. The warm climate around Palm Springs makes convertible driving ideal year-round, allowing you to feel the desert breeze while cruising through scenic areas near Joshua Tree National Park. Rental convertibles provide an enhanced connection to the stunning landscapes between Palm Desert and Cathedral City.

How do you operate a convertible roof properly?

Most rental convertibles feature either manual or automatic roof systems that require the vehicle to be stationary before operation. Automatic systems typically involve pressing and holding a button until the roof fully retracts or closes, while manual tops require unlatching and folding by hand. Always ensure your rental convertible is parked safely before operating the roof mechanism, especially when exploring areas around Palm Springs International Airport or downtown Rancho Mirage.

What safety tips should convertible drivers follow?

Convertible car drivers should always wear sunscreen and sunglasses when driving with the top down through sunny California destinations like Palm Springs. Secure all loose items before lowering the roof, as desert winds can easily blow belongings from the vehicle during drives between Rancho Mirage and nearby golf course areas. Keep the convertible top closed when parking your rental car to protect the interior from UV damage and potential weather changes.

Which scenic routes near Rancho Mirage suit convertibles best?

The drive through Palm Desert offers stunning mountain vistas perfect for convertible exploration, with clear views of the surrounding desert landscape. Routes connecting Rancho Mirage to Cathedral City provide excellent opportunities to experience California's desert beauty with the top down. The scenic roads leading toward Joshua Tree National Park showcase dramatic desert scenery ideal for convertible adventures, though avoid venturing into the park's more remote areas.

How should you pack for a convertible road trip?

Pack light and secure all items in closed compartments when planning convertible drives around Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. Soft-sided luggage works better than hard cases in most rental convertibles, as trunk space may be limited when the roof mechanism is stored. Bring extra layers for temperature changes, especially during evening drives between Cathedral City and Palm Desert areas where desert temperatures can drop significantly.

What weather factors affect convertible driving?

California's desert climate around Rancho Mirage generally provides excellent convertible weather, though strong winds can make top-down driving uncomfortable. High temperatures during summer months may require keeping the convertible roof up and using air conditioning, particularly during midday drives near Palm Springs. Rain is rare in the desert region, but sudden weather changes can occur, so monitor forecasts before extended drives toward areas like Joshua Tree National Park or San Diego Airport.

How does car rental insurance work on Turo?

When booking a car in the US, you'll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that's right for you. On each trip, you're covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.* In New York state, you'll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you're covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.

What documents and paperwork do I need to rent a car on Turo?

To rent a car on Turo, you must create a Turo account, have a valid driver's license, get approved to drive on Turo, and be 18 years old or older in the US, 21 years old or older in Australia, or 23 years old or older in Canada. In the UK, you must be 21 years old or older and have held a UK or EU license for at least one year, or another driver's license for at least two years. In France you must be 18 years old or older and have held a driver's license for at least 2 years, longer for certain makes and models of vehicles. When you're booking your first trip, you'll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver's license and some other information. In most cases, you'll get approved immediately, and you'll be set for all future road trips, day trips, and business trips!
