It is unfortunate that my first experience with TURO resulted in a rating of zero to one star for this vehicle.
The Honda Civic 2021 was not in a safe condition to be driven on the road. The front end of the car trembled/shaking , there was an unusual noise from the front end and the tires were so worn down that the steel belt was exposed which could have caused possibly a blown tire under normal road driving conditions. Just not safe. Totally unacceptable. The air pressure on all 4 tires ranged from 47 psi to 24psi. Unacceptable and totally unsafe. The dashboard warning lights for “low tire pressure” and “maintenance required” were on and blinking. The interior and exterior of the vehicle was dirty… not vacuumed and not washed. The windshield was bug smeared and I had to wash and clean it myself. Very disappointing and very dissatisfied. It was evident that this vehicle was not inspected by the owner prior to being rented/delivered to me. I have photos of the vehicle which I have submitted to the TURO website and to the owner to verify and confirm the unsafe condition of the vehicle.
I strongly recommend that if you decide to use TURO, that you have the owner of the vehicle personally deliver the vehicle for inspection prior to driving it. This Honda Civic 2021 had received 5-star reviews from previous clients so do not rely on previous reviews since they are not reliable. I returned the vehicle to the host/owner the following day after I had made arrangements with a rental company at the airport. I am currently in a dispute claim with TURO to refund my money and credit my credit card. The host /owner of the vehicle was contacted and was very apologetic regarding the unsafe condition of his vehicle. I had needed the vehicle for business use and for a 5 day conference but this unsafe situation caused me not only an inconvenience but also an uneasy sense in having an unsafe and reliable vehicle.

Thank you for the feedback, Roberto. I’m sorry the trip did not meet your expectations. Guest safety is extremely important to me, and after these concerns were raised, I personally continued driving the vehicle to evaluate it and did not experience the unsafe conditions described. The maintenance light referenced was a standard upcoming service reminder, not a mechanical failure. The vehicle was cleaned before delivery, though Arizona dust can accumulate quickly outdoors, but will work on this.

Easy pick-up and communication throughout. We had a small issue with tire pressure (two of the tires were over-filled) and Carlos was super quick to provide assistance. The car was great for what we needed for the trip!
