I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing and stressful experience during my recent rental through Turo. What should have been a straightforward roadside issue turned into a prolonged and frustrating ordeal due to poor communication, lack of support, and what appears to be an attempt by the host to attribute unrelated damages to me.
During the rental period, the vehicle suffered a tire blowout after hitting a pothole. This was an unexpected road hazard and not the result of negligence or misuse of the vehicle. Immediately following the incident, I contacted Turo roadside assistance for help. Unfortunately, despite requesting assistance promptly, I was left stranded on the side of the road for approximately six hours. Roadside assistance did not arrive until nearly 3:00 AM, creating a very unsafe and uncomfortable situation.
Throughout this time, communication from both the host and support services was extremely poor. There was little to no proactive communication or updates regarding the status of assistance. Being left on the side of the road late at night for such an extended period is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the support process.
Even more concerning is that after the incident, the host began attempting to attribute additional damages to the vehicle that are clearly unrelated to the pothole and tire blowout. These claims appear to be excessive and unfair, especially considering the circumstances and the fact that the issue was caused by a road hazard rather than driver misuse.
This experience has raised serious concerns about host accountability, the fairness of damage claims, and the effectiveness of Turo’s roadside support. Renters should not be placed in unsafe situations for hours without assistance, nor should they be subjected to questionable damage claims after reporting an incident in good faith.
I respectfully request that this situation be reviewed carefully, including the timeline of roadside assistance and the legitimacy of the additional damage claims made by the host. I hope Turo will ensure that fair and reasonable judgment is applied and that renters are protected from inappropriate claims.
