The car itself was nice, and pickup was easy, but the trip was ruined by a serious privacy concern. During the rental, my iPhone detected an Orbit Velo / Find My-style tracker associated with the vehicle. When I used the Play Sound feature, I could hear it inside the car, but I was not able to locate it. I was not made aware of any tracker before or during the trip.
I understand owners may want to keep tabs on where their vehicle is. I don’t have a problem with that when it is disclosed ahead of time. What I do have a problem with is finding out on my own that something was hidden or undisclosed in the vehicle.
I reported it to Turo Support and messaged the host. Unfortunately, the response did not resolve the concern. Both Turo and the host seemed to agree that privacy matters, but the issue was not handled with the level of care I would expect for a real privacy concern. I want my privacy taken seriously. It is important to me, and it should be important to the people providing the rental as well.
Separate from the tracker issue, charging an electric vehicle through a rental platform is also a huge pain. I’m happy to pay for what I use, but paying is not as simple as it sounds. Different chargers require different apps, sometimes the chargers simply do not work, and I found myself randomly going between chargers trying to find one that would actually charge the car.
Because of the undisclosed tracker issue and the way it was handled, as well as the difficulty of charging, I would not rent this vehicle again.
I’m honestly surprised by this review. The Porsche Taycan was professionally detailed and included complimentary charging accessories, EZ Pass, cables, tissues, and a Tesla adapter for easier charging access. After your concerns were reported, the vehicle was inspected and no hidden tracker matching your description was found. I truly wish you had contacted me directly during the trip so I could have assisted with charging support and any concerns immediately. Sincerely.

Perfect from top to bottom! First time using an electric vehicle so I had to overcome that hiccup and delay. Otherwise, I would highly recommend! 5 stars! I appreciate Sean for his flexibility.
