Rented this car for April 24–26. At pickup, I completed the check-in and documented the vehicle’s condition with photos. Within a few minutes of driving, the car began lurching on acceleration and the check engine light came on. I returned it to the original pickup location immediately due to safety concerns and notified the host through the app right away.
The host did not respond or retrieve the vehicle for about two days (which required multiple follow-ups with support). After the trip, a damage claim was submitted by the host for areas on the driver’s side that were already documented in my check-in photos.
Based on this experience, I would recommend carefully reviewing the vehicle condition and taking thorough photos at pickup. I would not rent this vehicle again.
