This car is why Turo exists- very fun to drive and capable of any kind of road trip- I drove it for 6 days and 829 phenomenal miles and realized some childhood car video game dreams! I don’t know how I can go back to my ordinary daily car after this.

If you are traveling as far as I did, there was plenty of space for one big suitcase in the back and smaller bags in the passenger seat (make sure to research ahead of time if bringing luggage for two). If no luggage, instead take advantage of the Sting ray trim and try putting the roof in the trunk for a convertible-like experience!

Finally, Alan was exceptional in his pickup and dropoff experience- the car was ready on-time at his location, clean and ready to go, and he communicated well prior to and during the trip. He included a USBC charger cable in the center console which made CarPlay easy.

The car was awesome—fast, fun to drive, and exactly what I rented. If only the pickup experience had been engineered as well as the car.

I thoughtfully uploaded my flight information ahead of time, apparently as a fun little reading exercise rather than something that would actually be used. Right at the scheduled pickup time, the host called asking where I was. I explained my flight had been delayed. His response: “So I guess your pickup time wasn’t 4:30.” Correct—that’s generally how flight delays work.

He then asked for my ETA. I told him I was still waiting on my bags. “So you don’t know?” Also correct. Baggage claim rarely publishes countdown timers.

The scavenger hunt didn’t end there. The car was parked in a parking garage with no indication of which garage or which parking space. After wandering around for about 10 minutes and exchanging texts, I eventually located it. Nothing says “premium rental experience” quite like playing airport hide-and-seek after a delayed flight.

Great car. Just be prepared to bring your patience—and maybe a compass.

Alan's response

Marino was very rude on the phone, perhaps the delayed flight affected his mood, nevertheless I don’t deserve to be talked to in condescending manner. I brought the car to the airport on exact agreed time. However, he was about an hour late for the scheduled pick up. The responses to my texts were very abrupt and short. I wouldn’t rent my car to him ever again. If your plane is landing at 4:30 please don’t say you’re going to pick up the car at 4:30, give the host at least an hour.
