Kathy is a great host! She has excellent communication, the car was as described and really helped make our family vacation a success. We hit an unexpected snag with our trip to return the car (thanks Ferry!) and Kathy was super understanding and accommodating.

Returned the car the next morning due to multiple warning lights, including a red oil pressure light and check engine light (submitted photos). When I asked Kathy the weekend before my trip if everything was good, she confirmed it was in the Turo message chat. Clearly the car was not properly maintained before being rented out.
This threw a wrench into my vacation plans during the World Cup, where rental cars were extremely scarce. I had to scramble last minute to Enterprise to find a replacement, losing a day and a half of a one-week trip.
The positive note ( 1) is that Kathy is responsive on the app, but quick replies does not help when you’ve already lost vacation time. There was also no empathy shown for the situation. Her suggestion was to take the car back, get it fixed, and return it to us, which is simply not realistic during a time-limited trip.
Maintenance should be handled before renting, not after a renter flags it. If Kathy does not take this seriously, the next vacationer could end up in the same position. Future renters just take this into consideration.
I'm sorry you had a unexpected experience. As I had mentioned to you in our conversation conversations when I presented the car to you, there was no maintenance issues. I offered to take the car to get issue handled you refused, you acted like I was attacking you personally and did this on purpose, you kept my car, and stopped communicating. You refused to return the car and then when I finally did get it back, which was the next day I had to chase you down to get it.
