The vehicle was older, which I was aware of, but I was not expecting it to make such a strange noise when starting and while idling. That was a little concerning. However, for the most part, the vehicle drove nicely and was definitely a gas saver. I drove it for four days and did not need to fill the tank until I was preparing to return it.
One issue I was disappointed with was having to pay for parking when exiting the garage after picking up the vehicle. This additional expense was not disclosed prior to pickup. I reached out to the host about it, but I did not feel my concern was handled very well. I was repeatedly told that I would not be charged, even though I had, in fact, already paid the parking fee. I would have appreciated the host simply acknowledging the charge and addressing my concern directly.
The host did provide very detailed and helpful instructions, which I appreciated. However, I felt there was a little too much communication throughout the rental. After the initial pickup instructions, I personally would have preferred to enjoy my vacation without frequent check-ins unless there was something important that needed to be communicated. The repeated messages asking how the trip was going, followed by several communications as the return time approached, felt somewhat excessive and redundant.
Overall, the vehicle served its purpose, drove well, and was very fuel-efficient. With better disclosure regarding parking fees, more responsive handling of customer concerns, and less frequent communication during the rental period, I think the overall experience could be improved.

Car has almost brand new tires. Changed all 4 in January. When it pours like during your trip, not much you can do. Sorry about that
