My only frustration was that I had to pay$12 to get out of the parking lot.

Yes, when the car is parked in the airport parking, and you selected that you were picking up from the airport parking when making your reservation, there is always an airport parking fee. Similarly, when you drop off the vehicle, the host, myself pays for the parking. We hope you enjoyed your trip.
