I booked this vehicle expecting to have it for a month’s rental time from 12/17/25-1/17/25. Imran, Upon my arrival I was assured by the host the vehicle had been serviced and was ready to be driven. Prior to leaving he checked the oil and stated everything looked good and to make sure I return the vehicle at 800 miles for it to be serviced again. Not even 5 minutes into having the vehicle I noticed a clattering sound coming from the front of the vehicle. I immediately messaged Imran and informed him of this issue, which he claimed was the jack and spare tire in the truck of car. I continued to drive the vehicle to my place of work in Hoffman Estates which was 15 minutes away from the pick up location. After getting off work I attempted to drive the vehicle home, Not even 10 minutes into my drive on the expressway the vehicle started to smoke viciously and was preparing to stop. I immediately moved over to the shoulder of the expressway. The dashboard lite up with the battery light and the oil light. I called Imran and informed him of the issues the vehicle was having and he stated it sounds like it may be time for an oil change. Which threw me off guard because not even 8 hours ago he informed me that the vehicle had been
Thoroughly checked and everything was fine. He instructed me to call the support team and request roadside assistance. I had to sit in the vehicle at 7 months pregnant, in 20 degree weather and no heat and wait for over an hour for the lyft driver to try and retrieve me from my spot on the side of the expressway. He would not pick up the phone for the support team and provide the drop off location of the vehicle, I had to make them aware of the location. He called me the following afternoon to inform me that someone had tried to steal a part from underneath the vehicle which was why the engine had failed on me while driving. I feel as if the vehicle was not properly
