Jimmy and the vehicle were wonderful. The car was very well maintained and Jimmy was a superb host. He was always very responsive and went above and beyond to make sure our trip/rental was a great one. Thank you Jimmy! We will definitely re-rent again if we need to and truly thank you for being an amazing host.

Overall, the host was responsive, but I wouldn’t rent this car again for a long-distance trip.
One thing to keep in mind is the pickup and return location. If you live near Ontario, it’s probably fine. However, if you’re staying in Los Angeles or Orange County, it’s quite inconvenient. There wasn’t an option to change the return location, so both pickup and drop-off required a significant amount of extra travel. I even asked the host if there was any way to help by changing the return location or arranging another solution, and I was willing to pay an additional fee if necessary, but unfortunately that wasn’t an option.
The car has over 200,000 miles, and I think it could benefit from more thorough maintenance. During my trip, the battery died unexpectedly, and my friend had to jump-start the car. I immediately informed the host. He offered to replace the battery the next morning around 9 AM, but I had already booked tickets for Universal Studios and didn’t want to change my travel plans because of a vehicle issue.
I told him that if the car continued to run fine that day, I would continue the trip and asked if the battery could be replaced the following day instead. However, I was staying in Orange County, and he said he wouldn’t be coming down there again. If I wanted the battery replaced, I would have needed to drive about an hour back toward his area (without traffic), which wasn’t practical during my vacation.
I also noticed occasional noises while driving, and the steering made a noticeable clunking sound when turning instead of feeling smooth. I can’t say what caused it, but combined with the battery issue and the car’s high mileage, it didn’t give me much confidence for longer drives.
The car may be fine for local driving around Ontario, but I don’t think it’s the best choice for anyone planning a road trip. Personally, I wouldn’t feel comfortable renting it again for long-distance travel.
