The check engine light thing was scary. But other than that, it was cool.

The rental started off okay, but then got a low oil warning on day two. Pulled over and sat unable to get a response from the host for >30 minutes through call, text, or the Turo app.
Eventually got through to Turo support, who got ahold of a cohost - who eventually contacted me. I finally got permission to top off the oil in the car, but it was too late - my partner and I had missed the funeral we flew down to Arizona for.
The host has not reached out to check on me or the car since telling me what type of oil to add to their car. No remorse or consolation besides insuring me that they would reimburse me for the oil and funnel that I had to buy.
I'm sharing this so other renters know what to expect. A car breaking down can happen to anyone. What made it unacceptable was that the host couldn't be reached when it mattered, and showed no concern afterward. No refund or reimbursement can give us back that day. I would not rent from this host again.
