Easy pickup and great communication. If had the chance, will rent from again. Thanks!

Unfortunately, this was not a great experience. Communication before pickup was minimal. My pickup time was 1:00 PM, and by 12:30 PM I still hadn’t received instructions. When I reached out, responses were very brief and not very helpful.
The car was at PSP Airport, but the parking instructions were extremely vague: “EV charging spots next to the exit/pay station in self parking.” As someone arriving at the airport for the first time, this was not helpful. PSP parking is split into sections (A, B, C, D), and none of that was mentioned initially. I followed the “Get Directions” feature in the Turo app to locate the car, and even that was inaccurate. I ended up walking aisle by aisle with large luggage over bumpy pavement trying to find the vehicle. The photos provided only showed a sign that said “Electric Vehicle Parking Only,” which did not indicate any section or exact location and was not helpful. Only after multiple messages did I finally get told it was in Section C4, and even then I had to ask where in that section. This made the pickup unnecessarily stressful and physically exhausting.
The car itself was very dirty inside and out. The exterior was so dirty that it was hard to tell what was dirt versus scratches, and there were many visible scratches on the car. With the bright sun reflecting off the vehicle, it was difficult to capture and document every single scratch at pickup. Inside, there was noticeable pet hair throughout the carpet and shoe marks on the back of the seats. On top of that, the windshield washer fluid was empty, so I couldn’t clean the windshield during my trip, which felt unsafe and showed a lack of basic maintenance.
Another issue: I was not informed in advance that there would be a parking fee or how it would be handled. I ended up having to pay $9 when exiting the parking structure. Turo’s policy is that parking fees and instructions should be communicated ahead of time, and this was not done.
When I documented the battery percentage after pickup and sent it via the Turo app (just to properly document the condition of the car), the response I received was “As you should,” which came off as unnecessarily rude.
I had the car for over 10 days, and starting a long trip with a dirty, scratched, and poorly maintained vehicle was very frustrating. I also noticed another guest had left a review the day before my rental, which suggests the vehicle may not have been properly cleaned or prepped between guests.
That said, the car itself did function, and I did not experience any mechanical issues during the trip.
I rated this 2 stars due to unclear pickup instructions, lack of cleanliness, lack of basic vehicle maintenance, undisclosed parking fees, and unprofessional communication.
