The car itself was great! It got me from point A to point B without any issues and was very fuel-efficient. Unfortunately, my experience with the host was disappointing.
Communication was practically nonexistent, as my questions went unanswered throughout the rental process. Additionally, I was unexpectedly required to pay a $24 parking fee, which the host only notified me about 30 minutes before my scheduled pickup time. Naturally, I didn’t see the message until I arrived at the gate, where the parking attendant informed me that payment was required. I found this extremely unreasonable, as additional fees should be clearly communicated well in advance, not at the last minute.
Thankfully, I was able to request a refund, and I sincerely appreciate Turo’s customer support for stepping in and taking the lead in resolving the situation.
Overall, while the vehicle met my expectations, the host’s lack of communication and transparency significantly impacted my experience. A good rental experience goes beyond simply providing a reliable car; it also requires professionalism, responsiveness, and clear communication. Unfortunately, those qualities were lacking in this experience.
