The car itself was amazing I actually may go purchase one after this trip. But they gave me a car with a rear tire literally shredding. I didn’t realize until I was a hour away in Daytona and was told im not responsible and drive normal speed to return the vehicle “normal” being 70 mph down i4. When I was making my way to return the car the tire actually blew out and started throwing debris behind me down the highway which was very unsafe not just for me but the vehicles around. When i contacted the host again I was told it’s not my fault as I was just following his instructions of returning the vehicle. We contacted roadside and I waited a whole 3 hours on the side of I4 for them to arrive just to not be able to fix anything or put the spare on because the wheel lock key was stripped. So after contacting him again I was told just to wait for him and he’s about a hour away or wait for another roadside assistance person. Mind you I called FDOT explained the situation and was told I’d be fine to leave the vehicle for the host to retrieve. The roadside guy that pulled up after 3 hours also said I’d be fine to leave the vehicle for the host to retrieve. I explained to him I have a daughter waiting for me and can’t be gone any longer as at this point a 2 hour drive has become almost 4 hours of sitting on the side of i4. I informed him of exactly where the car was and waited about a hour for him to arrive. I end up having to leave because I had to go get my daughter then he said he’ll have to report me. So all in all just be carful renting make sure you double triple check everything even things like the tires and the wear they have because you might end up on the side of i4 for 4 hours then being told youll be reported.
