While the car is beautiful, it is not meant for long trips. The battery is quite degraded and maximum charge is about 110 to 120 mi,. The host was very responsive and we appreciated that. We are very familiar with Tesla's, we own one and next time we will rent one that is newer!
A Tesla's range depends on its battery capacity. Capacity is at its peak when the car is new and decreases as it ages—and the range drops along with it. Many factors contribute to this decline, ranging from high-speed driving to running the air conditioning at full blast. Even in winter, my range is 30% greater than yours—and the gap is even wider in the summer. That said, you’re right: getting a newer Tesla would be better (though it costs more, including the TURO payments 😁).
