The car was great- everything worked well and we had no issues. Convertible was fun. However, I had communicated several times with the owner about where to meet to pick up the car. He said there would be a pickup fee of $75 to meet at the convention center or airport, but that we could do that. I said okay, I need the car right at the pickup time because I have a reservation 30 minites away, 30 minutes after pickup. After several attempts to contact him, I called and he answered, saying he wasn't going to meet at the pickup unless I paid cash, because Turo takes a cut. This left me scrambling becasue I didn't have that much cash on me (I was standing on the street at the pickup point) and he said he wouldn't let me pay him cash later because he could get screwed over. So I ended up paying $130 in cab and Uber fees making it to my reservations and then back to the car for pickup, then later from drop off to the airport.
Long story short, if you're going to offer pickup and drop off through the app, in writing, then stick to that. It really causes a lot of stress and problems when you back out on that to save a buck.
