I love this car, I wish I could drive it every day! Pick up and drop off were easy and Andrey’s communication was clear and quick. It’s a very well maintained older car. Perfect for taking my elderly parents out. My dad said he felt like a diplomat being chauffeured about. The car is very comfortable for cruising along but has power when you need it. I’m used to old cars, my daily driver is from ‘67 so this is “modern” by my standards. If you’re used to newer cars and rely on back up cameras, lane sensors, auto headlights and such, this will be an adjustment. It’s active driving as it should be. Will definitely rent again when I’m in the area.

This 560 SEL was a wonderful piece of history, and brought back memories of a 1993 Benz that I used to own. Unfortunately both the coolant and oil warning lights came on during our trip, so we needed to top off the fluids. Additionally one of the headlight bulbs was burned out when we picked up the car. Granted, this car was in really nice shape for it's age, nonetheless it wasn't a trouble-free rental.
I’m glad you enjoyed the 560 SEL — it’s a special classic. This is a 1991 car, and while well-maintained, it’s really best for local cruising. Taking it on long trips over the mountains and across the state can put extra strain on an older vehicle, which is likely what led to the issues you experienced.

As a car guy, I can’t thank the host enough for offering this cream puff of a 560 SLE for rental. I have wanted to drive one of these for over 30 years and finally got the chance. The car is immaculate for its age, drives just as nicely as you’d expect. Takes you back to a different time and place! Pickup/drop off was a breeze, zero issues with this trip.
