This was my very first time using Turo and this was a very horrible experience… I spent 516 dollars renting this car for a week and the very last day which is today. The car stopped working, When I went to start the car when leaving for work the wheel was locked and the car did not start. I called road side assistance and was told I just needed a jump and I had a friend come give me a jump and that did not work, The wheel was still locked and the car was not coming on. I called the host several times and no response. I was a hour late for work and had to have roadside assistance tow the car, They came and got the car and returned it to the host and I was told by Carlos in billing that once the car was received I would be receiving compensation and partial refund for inconvenience and to call back once the car was received. I called back and was given the run around by 5 different representatives, I was hung up on, put on hold several times, and several representatives declined to escalate my call to a manager. I have yet to receive any sort of compensation for the inconvenience and I spent 5 hours on the phone trying to get this situation worked out and no one was able to help. Instead I was charged a $200 service fee for the car being towed which i shouldn’t have received any type of fee because it is not my fault the car broke down and wouldn’t start. This was a horrible experience and if I could give any advice to future renters I would say to not rent through Turo, you are better off going to a regular rental company they will get you taken care of faster and better than Turo. This car is also not a good car to rent out, it clearly have mechanical issues and to avoid being broke down and stuck on the side of the road, I would say to choose another vehicle if you are going to rent through Turo 0/10 I do not recommend.
