Check engine light was on car smelled like cigarette smoke and wasnt clean outside or inside

Hi we have stated the check engine light was on for a charcoal canister that is in the way. It in no way affects the immediate health of the vehicle. Car is clean as every other guest has stated.
Host was very understanding and vehicle was very accommodating for my planned event.
