Overall, this was a poor experience due to the lack of basic amenities that made a long-distance drive unnecessarily difficult. The car had no map features or CarPlay, and no chargers were provided. The only charging option was a box-shaped connector that didn’t support USB-C, and there was no phone mount to safely navigate while driving alone. Bluetooth was also difficult to connect, and the car did not display mileage or gas-to-empty information, which added stress during long highway stretches.
The host communicated promptly and was helpful, but certain instructions, such as how to use the lockbox, were given only verbally and not written anywhere, making them easy to forget after a long trip. As an experienced driver, these challenges weren’t due to lack of ability but due to the absence of basic tools and resources that are standard in most rentals.
I appreciate the host’s responsiveness, but the car would benefit from more amenities and clearer written instructions for a smoother renter experience.
