If I could rate this lower I would.
Terrible experience.
The pick up process from the location was smooth. However, the very next day, the car had maintenance issues.
When I reached out to the host I was given instructions on how to return. I communicated that I was en route to drop off and next thing I know I am being called back to back about giving the rental back as if I was at fault for their vehicle’s maintenance issues. The incident was one thing, what made it worse was the customer service by the host.
The issue: gas fuel sensor/reader not working. I picked up the vehicle with a full tank, when I parked it over night ALL the gas was gone. Weird. But I went to fill up immediately because I am out of town in an unfamiliar city. Get to the station to refill, the pump clicks indicating it’s full, but the reader shows nothing went in. There were no leaks or nothing. After expressing my concern for safety and showing the host the receipt for gas and the reader she tells me I am supposed to return. I stop my plans to return the car back to the location. I got lost on my way there but next thing I know some one calls asking where is the car. I let them know I just got there and I am trying to handle the replacement matter as this was a major inconvenience for me. But then I get 2 more calls. Very frustrating again, as if I’m the one who’s inconveniencing them or myself with this issue.
After it is returned and I am in a different vehicle, I reach out to the host the next day to ask about my reimbursement, which the host then tells me that I am supposed to return the car with a full tank. This is not my first Turo, I know that. I even let her know there was no way that would make sense since the reason it was returned is tied to the gas. The tank that isn’t even working to begin with. That wasn’t full when returned.
Overall zero stars but I’ll give it one because of the smooth pick up process
