I hesitate to give this rating because the communication and organization from the host was very good. However, the issue was one that caused a fair amount of concern during our trip. Less than 30 minutes into the drive from Miami to the Florida Keys, the transmission began slipping very badly. The car was noticeably jerking during any acceleration as it struggled to switch gears. It felt like it was going to stop at any moment. We were 2 hours away from our booked resort and it was at night as well. I knew enough to get the car up to speed and engage the cruise control to essentially eliminate the issue and luckily that worked for the rest of the drive (except for those times when I had to slow down/stop, then accelerate back to a good speed). The thought of the car breaking down during our trip was constantly with us, not to mention the worry of the trip back. We ended up driving it as little as possible until we had to return. I can't say for sure, but it did not feel like this was the initial time that this problem occurred. One other issue is that the instrument display did not show the vehicle's total mileage, no matter what buttons I pushed. The display control buttons (menu, information, etc) were apparently not working. I informed the host and was told that he/she could not view them either (there was no picture of the mileage in his/her check-in photos). As I said, the host was very responsive, but the vehicle needs serious attention before anyone should book it again.
