Unfortunately, this was not a good rental experience. I rented this vehicle for my graduation weekend, and the condition of the car did not match the photos advertised. The pictures made the vehicle appear to be in much better condition than it actually was.
The hood paint was badly faded, there was noticeable wear and tear throughout the vehicle, including damage around the bumper area, and the overall appearance was disappointing. While I understand that rental cars will have normal wear from use, the listing photos should accurately reflect the vehicle’s current condition.
The car also had a strong smoke odor despite the listing stating that smoking was not allowed. As a non-smoker, this was very unpleasant. On top of that, the battery was having issues, and the passenger-side window would not roll up during heavy rain, creating an even more stressful situation during an important weekend when I should have been focused on my graduation.
What disappointed me most was the response to my concerns. Rather than offering an alternative solution or showing much concern for the issues I experienced, I was simply advised to return the vehicle and book something else. I understand that other renters may have had positive experiences, but my concerns did not seem to be taken seriously.
Thankfully, Turo stepped in, helped me find another vehicle, and covered the additional costs due to the situation. The replacement rental and host were excellent.
This was my second time using Turo and, unfortunately, my worst rental experience. Based on my experience, I would not rent this vehicle again.
