I am giving this experience three stars because the vehicle and initial drop off were good, and the host ultimately retrieved the vehicle the following morning and confirmed that everything was fine. However, the return process was extremely frustrating, poorly communicated, and unnecessarily inconvenient.
My scheduled return time was 11:00 p.m. At 10:34 p.m., I contacted the host to confirm that the vehicle was fully fueled and ready. Only then did he tell me that he would not retrieve it until the following morning and instructed me to leave it unattended overnight with the hazard lights on. This made no sense, as it could have drained the battery and left me responsible for an unsecured vehicle after the rental had ended.
Had I not contacted him, I do not know when or if he would have informed me that he intended to change the agreed upon return arrangements. This should have been communicated and coordinated well in advance.
Because my wife and I were staying at a hotel, I had to arrange for the valet to park and secure the vehicle, explain the situation to the hotel staff, and send the host a picture of the valet ticket so he could retrieve the vehicle the next morning. Although he did retrieve it and confirm that everything was fine, the last minute change caused unnecessary stress, inconvenienced my wife and me, and put a damper on the end of an otherwise enjoyable trip.
The positive aspects of the vehicle and the fact that the host followed through are why I gave three stars. However, the poor communication and disorganized return process prevent me from rating the experience any higher.

Good trip, good communication from host. Car is mechanically in great condition. Some damage and bubbling to the wrap, but overall good exterior condition. Nothing crazy that should deter anyone from choosing this vehicle. Very clean inside.
Only thing is that I wasn’t informed of the extra charge for changing my drop-off time when I asked for the change of 2 hours and it was approved. The $261 invoice came as a surprise. I can still recommend booking with this host, but be sure of your communication!
