When I first received the car, I was excited—the exterior looked great. However, the interior smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant. I also noticed strange noises when starting the engine, but I didn’t think much of it at the time.
Unfortunately, things took a serious turn on the first night of my trip. While driving back, the car began making loud popping noises, almost as if something was about to explode. Thankfully, I was only a few minutes away from where I was staying and not on the highway. The car suddenly broke down and had to be towed—definitely one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a vehicle.
That said, the host was very responsive and helpful. He answered his phone at 4 a.m., guided me through the steps, and immediately arranged for a tow truck. He also apologized for the incident and issued me a partial refund, which I appreciated.
I’m not a mechanic, so I’m not sure what exactly went wrong, but the breakdown was alarming. While the host handled the situation professionally, the condition of the car left a lot to be desired. I hope the vehicle gets the necessary repairs so no one else has to go through the same experience.
