The vehicle itself was fine, but unfortunately, the roads in Memphis were not. I ended up popping a tire after hitting a pothole and immediately contacted the owner for assistance. Unfortunately, the response was essentially, “It’s on you,” and I was not provided with any meaningful help or support.
I was stranded on the side of the highway for approximately two hours and ultimately had to arrange and pay for my own towing, which cost $130, in addition to purchasing a brand-new tire.
What was most disappointing was the lack of concern for my safety throughout the situation. After everything happened, the only response I received from the owner was, “Make sure you get the right tire.” There was no “Are you okay?” or “Are you safe?”—nothing acknowledging that I had been stranded on the side of a highway for two hours.
I understand that potholes and road hazards can happen and may not necessarily be the owner’s fault. However, the way the situation was handled and the lack of communication and concern made the experience extremely frustrating. The vehicle may have been fine, but the customer service and support when something went wrong were not.
