I can't recommend renting from this host.
The day before my trip, Zach contacted me and said the previous renter had damaged the rear bumper and that it wouldn't be repaired before my reservation. When the car arrived, the "repair" looked like a toddler had tried to fix it with nail polish. It certainly didn't look like a professional repair.
Pickup was also late. Throughout the trip, I got the impression the car was being closely monitored. Within minutes of connecting my phone, I received a message about Apple CarPlay. Later, shortly after I stopped at a gas station, I received another message reminding me to use premium fuel and document the fill-up. Maybe it was coincidence, but the timing felt odd.
During my trip, the vehicle developed a flat tire. I immediately contacted Zach, and he told me he would cover the repair. I paid to have the tire repaired, and the tire technician who performed the repair told me the puncture was in the center tread and was completely repairable. The tire held air for the remainder of my week-long trip, and Zach accepted the vehicle back in that condition.
After speaking with Turo, everything changed. Zach reversed his position, claimed I was responsible, and submitted an alleged damage claim. He used photos I had taken before the tire was repaired to support that claim, even though those photos didn't reflect the condition of the tire when I returned the vehicle. He also sought reimbursement for a full tire replacement instead of the repair that had already been completed, turning what should have been about a $40-$60 repair into a roughly $250 claim.
Looking back, the whole experience made me question whether this is a pattern. I was told the previous renter had damaged the vehicle, then I found myself dealing with an alleged damage claim after being told not to worry. I can't know what happened with the previous renter, but after my experience, it certainly made me wonder.
The issue wasn't the flat tire. Things happen. It was the inconsistent communication, the complete reversal after I was told the repair would be covered, and the way the claim was handled. Based on my experience, I wouldn't rent from this host.

I can’t recommend anyone renting to John.
I did inform him that he would not be charged for the tire. Since I never proceeded with the claim you were never charged.
Since Turo roadside was too expensive for you I had to pay for a new tire because of improper repair.
I only get notifications when my cars leave the state I don’t actively track my cars.
You say “it wouldn’t be repaired prior to your reservation” yet the repair was done poorly? That’s contradicting. It hadn’t been fixed.
The quality was superb, the host was gracious, and the pickup/dropoff spot was simple and convenient. 10/10 recommend.
