1.) Why Turo? 🤔
Peer-to-peer car sharing vastly differs from traditional car rentals. Turo is needed to facilitate the process of driving another person's car for commercial use.
2.) Can I drive over the 100-mi limit?
Sure, driving over the limit is quite common actually. It costs a little more, but your overall per-mile numbers go down the more you drive, resulting in a better deal!
3.) What if I need more time?
If my schedule permits... then you can extend your trip for additional usage. 🙂
4.) Can I let someone else drive?
Only if Turo approves the driver(s). To start, add their Turo account(s) to your trip. If it's pending, the driver(s) will need to complete the process via their account(s). **CAUTION: if you let an unapproved driver drive, Turo will invalidate insurance.**
5.) Can an approved driver get the car?
Sorry, Turo requires the primary driver (name on the trip) to pick up the car.
6.) Can I rent if I'm under 30?
Turo is strict on their age limit for classic cars due to insurance reasons. However, you can ask someone older to rent it— just as long as they (and only they) drive it. **CAUTION: Turo will deny coverage for drivers under 30 years of age.**
7.) How do I book a surprise trip?
If they'll be driving, you'll need their license info and an alternate email address to setup their Turo account. Once approved, you can add them to the trip.
8.) Do you accept non-CA drivers?
Yes! I've rented to drivers from around the globe. **CAUTION: be wary of the new time zone. Drowsy driving is dangerous!**
9.) Can I pay per hour?
Your trip can be less than a day, but Turo only allows daily rates, not hourly ones.
10.) Is there a security deposit?
Not at all. 😏
11.) Is your '81 DeLorean for sale?
Sorry it's not. But you can always rent this one for a test drive (and get my advice)!
12.) Seen any DMC-related series/films?
Yes. 😃 "Myth & Mogul: John DeLorean" and "Framing John DeLorean." As for movies, "Ready Player One" and the "Back to the Future" trilogy, of course.

We had the best experience with Andrew and his supercool car!! It was a dream come true driving a Delorean in Los Angeles. It puts a smile one everyone’s face and people came up to us to talk about all sorts of Back to the Future trivia. The whole experience was just so much fun. The car is very easy to drive and much more comfortable than I expected. Our three-day-rent was too short, but unforgettable. Next time we’ll rent it for whole vacation.
