This was our first Turo booking. Even before our ride began, while taking pictures for check-in, we noticed right after the car was delivered, a bulge about the size of a potato on the front passenger tyre. The owner asked us to replace it, and after talking to Turo customer care, we got it replaced. The whole process delayed us by more than two hours.

But this wasn’t even the hard part. The car smelt horrible—a stench of marijuana permeated the car, making it physically uncomfortable and immensely unpleasant to travel in it. My wife felt nauseous in the car throughout our trip, and both of us experienced nagging headaches and drowsiness, making it not only a sickening but also a very unsafe driving experience. Moreover we were visiting family and needless to say there was the embarrassment of the smell there too.

Overall, the worst first time ever. I must add Turo made every process very seamless and the owners behaved very courteously with us throughout. But that did not change what we faced.
