, dishonest host, battery dying in the vehicle, and host stole my phone mount i left in my car, and do not rent this car if you plan on picking up business clients to pitch.
This has been the worst rental, and this Prius should never have been allowed on the public road if it had battery issues. I was far too forgiving from day one, I even ignored a window that wouldn't work and the strong smell of weed in the vehicle, which should have been my first warning signs.(i informed the host of this and he said that sometimes the windows don't operate)
On day 5, the car suffered from critical, ongoing electrical failures, constantly flashing the exact dashboard warning: "AUX. BATTERY LOW. WHEN PARKING, PARK IN FLAT PLACE AND APPLY PARKING BRAKE SECURELY." This severe auxiliary power defect compromised the vehicle's hybrid systems and fuel economy. Despite these mechanical failures, before i turned the car in I filled the tank up so completely right before heading to the drop-off destination that the gas cashier actually had to refund me $4.53! Yet, the host fraudulently tried to stick me with bogus fuel charges.
Because the car repeatedly failed to start due to this electrical issue, I was left stranded and forced to pay out of pocket to have a company come out and perform jump-starts on two separate occasions (July 25 and July 26 $70 total + a cash tip). Throughout all of this, the host completely ghosted me,ignoring phone calls and text messages, dms, and hiding behind automated messages that completely disregarded urgent safety concerns.
To make matters worse, he lied right to my face about pricing: he promised to reduce my 2-day extension to $40 a day, only for Turo customer service to confirm he scammed me and charged $45 instead. To cap it all off, I accidentally left my car mount inside the vehicle; the host never informed me and has essentially stolen it.
Dangerous car, weed infested interior, fraudulent fuel claims, deceptive pricing, and a host who steals left behind property while completely ignoring safety. Avoid this host and vehicle at all costs!
