Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. When we picked up the Tesla, the car was dirty despite the host stating that it had just been cleaned. We also found multiple issues with the vehicle, including warning messages appearing on the dashboard, as well as damage that was not accurately reflected in the listing photos. I had specifically booked a Tesla because safety was important to me, particularly as I was travelling in a foreign country.
I contacted Turo Support and provided photos of the issues. After reviewing the situation, Turo advised us not to continue with the reservation and instructed us to arrange the return of the vehicle.
Communication with the host was also disappointing. His responses came across as very blunt and dismissive when I raised the issues with the vehicle, rather than being helpful or understanding of our concerns.
We agreed on a location to return the car, but when we arrived, the host did not show up and did not respond to our messages. We waited for around 20 minutes before contacting Turo again. Turo ultimately had to end the trip and arrange a replacement vehicle for us.
I appreciate Turo Support for helping resolve the situation, but overall the experience was stressful and inconvenient. I would have expected the vehicle to be clean as advertised, accurately represented in the listing, the concerns to be taken seriously, and the return process to be handled more professionally.
