Rented the 2025 Sentra for a road trip LA - Mesa - Eloy - San Diego - Burbank. Car drove okay, but overall host experience was really bad.
During the trip my iPhone warned "Insignia Tag Detected Near You". Found a hidden Insignia Bluetooth Tag NS-TAG4PK labeled "Sentra FaR" in the front seat area. It was not disclosed before the trip. As a 21-year-old solo traveler from Norway, this made me feel very unsafe.
After return I received two invoices:
1. Refueling $45.53 - My photos and the host's own photos show I returned with MORE fuel than pickup. Pickup 14480 miles / 258 miles range, Return 15682 miles / 276 miles range. Fuel gauge was the same.
2. Damage $520 - My actual new damage was only low on Front Right Door rocker trim. The invoice added Front Right Fender $301 (lines 4,5,6) with no fender damage from my trip and no pre-trip fender photo, plus Front Right Wheel $100 which was pre-existing curb rash. I had a pre-trip photo of the wheel and host replied "Ok".
When I showed photo proof, host said the price would be significantly different and much higher if I did not pay.
I accept paying for my actual damage (door low trim ∼$300) and offered that, but not for fender and old wheel I did not cause.

The car was super clean and drove very well, obviously very well maintained. A great trip, made easier by delivery and pick up! Will rent from him again.
