After I notified them there were overheating issues,
they claimed with Turo that I opened the engine bay and removed the coolant cap, causing the issue.
Firstly, there is no motivation to open the engine bay and mess with a rental. second, I don’t know how to do that.
The vehicle has a history of multiple accidents and recent maintenance. It was denied multiple recent rental requests on this app alone. There was also a container of coolant in the trunk prior to my rental. My guess is the maintenance person forgot to put the cap on.
The problem is the owner trying to pass previous issues with the vehicle as mine. It’s very dishonest and I would not rent with them in the future.

That’s an absolute lie, you 110% removed the coolant cap from the vehicle as it’s accessible from the top. There were no accidents on this car so make up another lie nor were there any denied trips. That’s not even how the app works but nice try.
