This was an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience. The co-host initially gave us an access code for the car, but the code did not work. After I informed him, he acknowledged the mistake and provided a different code, which successfully opened the lockbox. We took the car as instructed.
Later, while I was at work, I came outside and discovered that the vehicle was missing. I then received a notification from the owner asking me to call immediately. When I called, he said he had come to my workplace and taken the car because he believed it had been stolen. That explanation was unreasonable, especially since the access problem resulted from an error on their end.
He claimed that he contacted the police and reported the vehicle stolen, although I have no confirmation that he actually did so. Rather than acknowledge the mistake and communicate with me first, he removed the car without my knowledge and defended that behavior. I will not do business with these people again
