Bait-and-switch. Avoid this host.
Booked an SUV for a family trip. Two hours before pickup, the host sneaks in a message with “options” and a long explanation — knowing most people won’t see it that early. Then while I’m in an Uber heading to him, he follows up asking what I chose. That’s when the game starts.
I pick a like-for-like SUV replacement — “not available.” Pick another — gone too. Surprise, the only one left is the smallest sedan on his lot. The one he wanted to dump on me all along. No time to book elsewhere, no price adjustment. Paid SUV price, got crammed into a sedan with my family.
The whole thing was engineered — send an early message for cover, then pressure you mid-commute when you’re trapped. Don’t fall for it
