Overall, this was a good rental experience. The 2023 Ford Mustang was fun to drive, and the pickup and drop-off process was simple with clear, easy-to-follow instructions. The hosts were very responsive and quickly answered any questions I had throughout the rental.
That said, there were a couple of concerns. The check engine light was on from the very beginning of the rental. It may have been something minor, but driving through the middle of Kauai on remote two-lane roads made me uneasy, knowing there was always the possibility of the car breaking down.
In addition, all four tires appear to need replacement. They were extremely worn and felt like driving on slicks, especially on wet or winding roads. Another issue was that the fuel gauge did not accurately indicate a full tank after refueling, which made it difficult to know the actual fuel level.
While the hosts provided excellent communication and made the rental process easy, I hope these maintenance issues are addressed before the vehicle is rented again.

Car windows didn’t fully close and trunk lid was a bit warped. Seats color very discolored. Turo lot has no service to do check in or return which made for a frustrating experience. Otherwise the car was fine
