Your economy option I would rent it again

We took the car on a short road trip about two hours from the original pickup location (Las Vegas), and unfortunately the battery died during our trip, leaving us stranded and unable to proceed with our vacation as planned. We spent several hours waiting for roadside assistance and were asked by the host to handle a battery replacement at AutoZone ourselves, which we ultimately had to do just to continue our trip and get back to Las Vegas.
As an alternative, the host suggested towing the vehicle and ending the car rental period early (the time unused would be reimbursed). However, since we were two hours from Las Vegas, this was not a practical solution, as we still would have needed to find another rental car or arrange transportation back. Thus, we felt we had no choice but to get the car serviced.
The host was responsive and maintained adequate communication throughout the situation, which we appreciated. However, the breakdown significantly disrupted our vacation. While we were told the battery cost will be reimbursed, as it should be, we received no compensation for the lost time, inconvenience, or disruption to our trip, and no refund for the rental itself. Overall, a disappointing experience.
