Extremely disappointing and unsafe experience. Shortly after receiving the car, I contacted the host because the suspension was making concerning noises. Instead of showing any concern or apologizing, he responded by saying his clients love the car and that I could return it.
The following day, I discovered something much more serious: one of the tires had a large chunk missing, with the internal material visibly exposed. This was a major safety hazard. The tire could have failed while I was driving at highway speeds, potentially putting me and others on the road in danger.
Even after I brought this serious safety issue to the host’s attention, there was still no apology or concern. His response was simply, “sounds good.”
I was on a business trip and had to spend valuable time dealing with Turo just to get the situation resolved and my money refunded. A rental vehicle should be properly inspected and safe to drive before being handed over to a guest.
By far the worst Turo experience I’ve ever had. I would not rent from this host again.
