It’s time to retire this old girl. In general, this car is just very beat up. There are dents, dings, and scratches all over the car and the rear bumper is starting to separate from the body. The trunk also looks like it might not be closed all the way when I think it actually is. The interior is falling apart, my wife and I were both cut by staples they used to try to hold the center console together. If you put the top down, the backseat squeaks like crazy as it gets shaken by the wind and part of the rear trim is held together with duct tape. All of this might be tolerable if the car was well-maintained and drove properly, but it just doesn’t. The car is also mechanically questionable as well. For being an automatic, it stalled on us once and threatened to stall at least two more times. The cruise control didn’t work for the entire time I had the car, which was not disclosed by the host. When dealing with vast expanses of highway outside of Las Vegas, this ranges from being a minor inconvenience to downright dangerous. The tire pressure was not checked prior to rental and the car threw a low pressure light part way through requiring me to refill the tires. The service soon light also started coming on every time we started the car, and according to the sticker in the windshield, it is possible that the car was several thousand miles overdue for service. At least the car’s engine stayed cool in the hot desert.
