Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. When I picked up the Lexus, I immediately noticed a strange noise coming from the front drivetrain. I messaged the host first thing the next morning, and he explained that during a previous rental the lug nuts had not been properly tightened after a brake job, which resulted in damage to the wheel hub.
He then asked me if I could take the vehicle to his mechanic for him. I was willing to work with him, but what really frustrated me was that I only received a partial refund from the host and ultimately had to contact Turo directly to resolve the remainder.
Beyond the mechanical issue, the vehicle has high mileage, had a noticeable musty/sweaty odor inside, and cosmetically I would describe it as average condition at best. Normally I could overlook some of those things on an older, higher-mileage rental, but at the rate being charged, I expected a significantly better vehicle and experience.
I appreciate that the host responded when I contacted him, but between the mechanical concern, having to deal with the repair during my rental, and the refund process, I unfortunately wouldn't rent this vehicle again.

I do want to clarify that when you reported the noise, I offered several solutions, including another vehicle, an Uber, and a discount to compensate for the inconvenience. The vehicle was later inspected by my mechanic, who could not reproduce the noise or find any mechanical issue. I took your concern seriously and was willing to work with you throughout the situation. I’m sorry the rental did not meet your expectations.

People don’t understand that a car rental process is close to stressful as running through the airport and the host made it super easy for me for pick up drop off and communication during the trip was amazing I couldn’t complain anything thank you for making our family trip amazing!
