Host was helpful/nice and offered many other services/gear. Gas mileage was amazing! Car ran fine, it was just a bit challenging for the following reasons. First it was smaller than expected, if I had my hair up in a bun it would hit the top of the car. I’m 5’6”. Seeing out of the back was difficult due to the glass having a film on it, with no drive assist I had to be extra careful when backing out or when raining. It didn’t have a lot of power, so going uphill or needing to turn quickly in traffic was slower. Maybe because it was due for maintenance service during the rental time? Unsure. The windshield wipers need to be replaced. Peaceful Hawaiian rain while driving was met with constant loud scraping of the blades. We also had trouble with the lockbox, it was rusted and difficult to open/detach. Otherwise car was reliable and both pickup and return was easy. First time using Turo, so a learning experience. Mahalo!

The car was OK. Head lights are very dim on low beam. We were told to drive with high beams, we were not real comfortable doing this but didn't drive at night much. AC was good, everything else worked. The big problem was the pick up. I was not told that the car would not be at the Lihue airport parking lot but at the Turo lot. I was not told there was a Turo shuttle from the airport to the lot. The person at the information booth at the Lihue airport told me to take a taxi! Not knowing about the shuttle and not wanting to spend more $, I walked. I had plenty of time before my friends arrived and I walk a lot at home, still not a great start to my holiday. Please be sure your customers understand how the pickup and shuttle work. Communicating with Turo was a little awkward. One of my friends decided to change her flight to an earlier time and leave when we other two did, thus changing the return time. I did not want a refund, I just wanted to return the car earlier. I was able to upload the final photos and contact the host but was not able to "end" the trip. I did not find the ap very user friendly in some ways. In the end, I don’t think I saved any money and will not likely use Turo again.
