Host was a good communicator and polite. Unfortunately the car wasn’t maintained. Definitely needed some work to feel travel worthy/road safe. Had to end my contract early. Hope Turo pulls through on the refund..

My wife and I planned a trip to the Big Island nearly a year in advance to celebrate our 59th anniversary. We didn’t realize that December is such a high-demand time in Hawaii, and rental cars were extremely limited. Through Turo, we found a 2010 Kia offered by James D., a Big Island resident, and felt fortunate just to secure a vehicle.
The process was smooth from start to finish. We used the car for a week, drove it as needed, and returned it on time without any issues. At drop-off, a young lady greeted us and was very gracious, making the experience even easier.
We highly recommend James D. if you’re looking to rent a car on the Big Island.
